Brazilian Cherry (Jatoba)
Also known as Ironwood or Ipe, this species is one of the hardest and most durable wood floors in the world. Brazilian Walnut is nearly three times as hard as Red Oak (Janka:3684). Brazilian Walnut’s color variation ranges from light yellowish tan with green overtones to almost blackish brown and it darkens over time to medium or dark brown. With a naturally rich color and durability second only to stone, this rich dark floor would be a beautiful addition to any interior.
Brazilian Chestnut, is sometimes referred to as Brazilian Teak. It has a warm neutral color of suede leather which ranges from tannish to deep brown. Over time the color will flatten out slightly; the grain pattern and texture are similar to red oak yet three times as hard as red oak (Janka: 3540). This is an ideal selection for those who desire the subtle beauty of a warm earth tone wood that can stand up to extremely high traffic and abuse.
Harvested in Brazil, Tigerwood has a reddish brown color with wide dark brownish black "tiger" striping. The striping can vary from fine to bold lines, with a tight grain that is 70% harder than Red Oak (Janka: 2160). Tigerwood is one of the most sensitive woods to UV rays. It will exhibit a large degree of color change with pronounced darkening of the background color from an orangey tan to a deep reddish brown color. Once seasoned the striping is less contrasting and more subtle. This striking floor will make a bold statement of beauty in any home.
Mahogany is know for its strength and beauty, and it has outstanding durability (71% harder than Red Oak with a Janka rating of 2,200). Our Santos Mahogany has a consistent reddish brown color with primarily straight grain. The inherent smooth, even texture of this wood adds to its elegant appeal. The rich deep dark red color of this floor makes it an excellent choice to add warmth and glow to any setting.
This beautiful wood is salmon pink color with tan undertones that reddens slightly as it ages. Unique in its coloring it will not darken to the degree of Brazilian Cherry once seasoned. This exotic wood is extremely hard with a Janka rating of 2,800. Tiete Rosewood is very striking and would be a wonderful choice that would add a warm inviting feeling to any room.
